COMPLETE. I finished the 100 things, but I still had to fix some of the fish. I’m excited to present them next week.
Concept Development: Ritual and Repetition, 100
Done! Now, to put it together…
Pencil Sculptures
I came across these sculptures from Jennifer Maestre through my Flipbook app. These sculptures are so intriguing, I wish I could see them in person. Click on the images for more images and information.

80.
Concept Development: Project 3
Today we presented our third assignment for our Concept Development class. I opted to craft brooches from felt, abandoning my children’s toys made from upcycled sweaters.
Edit: I added some images from my critique that were taken by Lynne Heller.
Felt Alphabet Set
Check out this adorable felt alphabet set. The blanket stick is immaculate! Mine are certainly a bit more quirky. ;)
Thread Drawings
I stumbled upon Amanda McCavour’s thread drawings, which I just had to share. They are so whimsical and charming. I’ve seen a similar technique by an artist shown at Harbourfront, but I cannot remember his/her name. I also used this technique to create my tree ornaments this year!
Design Solution, Navajo Patterns
I figured out what to do for my four repeat patterns based on Navajo designs for my surface design class. They were created entirely in Photoshop. I wanted to play with the idea of trend, and instead of creating designs that would easily be recognizable as Navajo, I decided to use Navajo designs as inspiration to go down other routes: colour blocking and geometric patterning.
Regretsy
Regretsy is a beast born from the lesser evil, Etsy. It pokes fun at what Etsy has to offer, since some products offered are questionable. Check out the list and be prepared to laugh!
Concept Development: Ritual and Repetition, 60
60 done. This time I did precisely two per day. Since I restarted the project, and missed a couple of days, I have to really crack down on how many I make per day!
